The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is the governing body of a number of Allied Health Professionals including:
Membership of the HCPC is legally required for using the above protected titles, with a requirement for registrants to abide by the Code of Conduct.
People leave the Register for a number of reasons, including career breaks, disciplinary matters or health reasons. If a professional wishes to be readmitted to the register and continue practicing their profession, they are required to go before a HCPC Panel to have their suitability assessed.
Re-applying to the HCPC register requires a significant amount of effort. In the case of a Striking-Off Order or Voluntary Removal Agreement, the applicant needs to show a considerable amount of personal and professional growth in order for the Panel to allow them to continue practicing.
Regardless of your reason for removal from the Register, you are not necessarily the person you once were. We are here to guide you through the process of restoring your title and maximising your chances of readmission.
AHPPI offers a bespoke programme to guide you through the process of readmission and boost your chances of success with the Panel.
The HCPC Readmission Programme puts you in direct contact with an experienced mentor who assesses your current circumstances along with your reasons for removal. These are measured against the HCPC Practice Notes relating to Restoration of Title and the Health Professions Order 2001 .
Your mentor will work with you to set up an action plan with realistic goals and timelines.
In the case of Striking Off Orders or Voluntary Removal Agreement, a significant amount of reflection is required in order for the applicant to demonstrate that they have insight into their reasons for removal and have grown from the experience.
Your mentor will guide you through creating an honest and professional reflective document for the Panel to consider.
As part of the readmission process, you will have the opportunity to go before a Panel at the HCPC in order to argue your case.
Your mentor will take you through a series of customised questions which the Panel are likely to ask you.
On completion of the programme, you will receive a reference letter from the AHPPI to submit as evidence to the Panel.
